Urban-Air Port Hosts Japan Airways, JCAB, and MLIT in Landmark Visit, Showcasing Revolutionary Vertiport Solutions
Urban-Air Port CEO Andrea Wu presenting to MLIT, JCAB and Japan Airways
London, UK – October 17, 2025 – Urban-Air Port (UAP), the global leader in compact, scalable, and sustainable vertiport & launch infrastructure, welcomed a high-profile delegation from Japan Airways, Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB), and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for an exclusive visit to its London headquarters last weekend. The visit underscores Japan’s accelerating commitment to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), following the successful demonstration of eVTOL flights at the Osaka Expo earlier this month.
Japan, known for its high-density urban environments and space constraints, expressed keen interest in UAP’s innovative vertical airfield technology and compact vertiport designs. UAP’s infrastructure, which requires up to 90% less space than traditional ground-based vertiports, offers unparalleled efficiency, delivering higher capacity and superior Return on Investment (RoI) through its proprietary stacked hangar systems and optimised operational models. The delegation was particularly impressed by the economic viability of UAP’s solutions, which directly address the challenges of costly infrastructure and its impact on operator and passenger fares.

During the visit, UAP shared its industry-leading expertise in eVTOL aircraft integration, infrastructure design, and operations in complex, space-constrained environments. The delegation explored Air-One NextGen, UAP’s cutting-edge vertiport business modeling tool, and gained insights into the company’s world-class partnerships with industry giants such as Hyundai, LG, and SITA and customers including Airbus, Honda and Supernal.
The Japanese delegation, which included distinguished professors from Chuo University’s Faculty of Economics and Keio University’s Faculty of Business and Commerce, specialising in transportation economics, engaged deeply with UAP’s focus on financial sustainability. Discussions highlighted how UAP’s compact, high-yield infrastructure addresses the economic barriers to AAM adoption, ensuring affordability and scalability for operators and passengers alike.
Urban-Air Port hosted the delegation lunch in central London
“We are honored to host Japan Airways, JCAB, and MLIT, and to showcase how Urban-Air Port’s groundbreaking solutions align with Japan’s vision for urban air mobility. Our compact vertiports, powered by our innovative vertical airfield technology, are designed to deliver sustainable, high-impact solutions for cities like Tokyo and Osaka, where space and efficiency are paramount.”
The afternoon was marked by vibrant discussions, mutual respect, and a shared vision for the future of urban air mobility, complemented by exceptional hospitality.
This landmark visit strengthens Urban-Air Port’s position as a global pioneer in AAM infrastructure and sets the stage for future collaborations with Japan’s aviation and urban planning leaders. Thanks to Japan Airport Consultants for managing the logistics for this landmark meeting.

About Urban-Air Port
Aviation & Defence Technology | World’s most advanced, patented infrastructure for Advanced Air Mobility
Urban-Air Port is a cutting-edge aerospace, robotics, and air mobility platform driving 21st-century defence and aerospace innovation. Harnessing decades of expertise in drones, aviation, and infrastructure, it delivers unmatched solutions for global defence and aerospace markets.
Its defence-focused Pandora suit of products, unveiled at DSEI 9-12th September 2025, offers covert, portable, and automated infrastructure to support tactical frontline operations. Designed to counter aerial surveillance and strikes, it enables small units to execute complex missions with enhanced tempo and resilience.
An award-winning leader in infrastructure, Urban-Air Port develops compact landing and charging systems for sustainable air transport, including passenger and cargo VTOL air taxis and autonomous drones for civilian and defence use. Its mission is to electrify aviation by overcoming ground infrastructure limitations, creating a zero-emission ecosystem that slashes congestion and pollution in passenger, cargo, and defence transport.
Recognised as a global leader in Advanced Air Mobility, Urban-Air Port’s patented vertiport technology delivers ultra-compact, high-capacity infrastructure, transforming cities into connected, cleaner hubs for a green economic future. Its solutions are optimised for electric and hybrid VTOL aircraft, ensuring safer, quieter, and more sustainable operations compared to competitors.
The “Vertical Airfield” technology compacts conventional airfields, enabling safe electric vertical take-off and landing at height, akin to an aircraft carrier. Urban-Air Port’s vertiports are 80% smaller than alternatives, featuring modular designs for scalable expansion, maximised eVTOL throughput, and integrated energy storage for superior performance and passenger experience.
The Air-One project in Coventry, launched in April 2022 with UK Government Research and Innovation funding, marked the world’s first fully operational vertiport in a dense urban setting. It hosted over 15,000 visitors and 150 successful flights within Coventry’s complex urban airspace and airport restriction zone.
Backed by global partners like Supernal (Hyundai Motor Group) and Directors of M7 Real Estate (Oxford Properties), Urban-Air Port’s team of aeronautical engineers and aerospace experts brings experience from Airbus, Foster + Partners, Arup, BAA, McKinsey, Hyundai, Vertical Aerospace, EASA, NATS, Qatar Airways, Anduril and elite military units like US Special Forces and the British Army.
